Precision testing (at physician pricing) is almost half of your fees. Dr. Obayashi hand picks the best companies in North America for each of your genetic and metabolic tests. You’ll establish an excellent set of baseline results that will serve you well as more of these tests become covered by MSP in the future.
Yes, Biobi Health tests and services are HSA-eligible and CRA-eligible in BC, Canada. It is recommended to submit our detailed invoice for pre-approval with your Health Spending Account (HSA), and also to consult your accountant about the Medical Expense Tax Credit (METC). The following examples are NOT tax advice:
High income with $2,000 in HSA: Pay Biobi Health $9,500 and reimburse yourself $2,000 through your HSA. Then, deduct $4,750 ($7,500 minus $2,750) via METC.
Spouse makes $50,000 in net income without HSA: Your METC starts after $1,500 in medical expenses (3% of net income). Pay Biobi Health $9,500 and deduct $8,000 ($9,500 minus $1,500) via METC.
No, but you can claim medical expense tax credits (METC) as described above. Consult your accountant on combining family medical expenses into one tax year.

No, Biobi Health focuses on disease prevention. You need your current primary care provider for disease diagnosis. Dr. Obayashi will initiate investigations, referrals, and treatments if medically necessary, but followup is with your primary care provider. Biobi Health services are designed to compliment -not replace- your regular medical care.
Dr. Obayashi sees patients by telehealth on Monday 4:30pm-8:30pm, Wednesday 9am-5pm, and Thursday 9am-5pm, and in-person on the first Saturday of each month 9am-3pm.
